Middleware solution allows edit while ingest for fastest workflow from live feeds
Pan-African broadcaster, Kwesé, has taken delivery of a Marquis Broadcast Medway system, supplied by Zimele Broadcast, to streamline its sports production and facilitate fast-turnaround coverage of a recent major sporting event in Asia. The Medway middleware was retrofitted to an Avid® NEXIS®/ Interplay®, Oracle DIVA and Dell EMC Isilon infrastructure, to enable Kwesé’s team to edit while ingesting media for the fastest possible turnaround of incoming live feeds. Importantly, Medway enabled this critical functionality without needing to replace any existing systems.
Marquis Broadcast, specialist in content workflows and media integration software has today announced ITV’s Emmerdale will use its latest Medway development to deliver files in AS-11 DPP format. The new Digital Production Partnership (DPP™) support from Marquis, will enable Emmerdale to deliver content to its transmission facility in Chiswick Park, in the new, required AS-11 DPP delivery format which becomes mandatory in the UK from October.
Marquis has announced the CBS-affiliated television station, WTVF, has selected Medway, Marquis’ sophisticated software tool kit designed to deliver seamless and cost-effective integration between leading broadcast content applications, to enhance its workflow at NewsChannel 5 Network in Nashville, Tennessee.
ARTV (TV Parlamento), the internal television channel of the Portuguese Parliament, has installed Medway, Marquis' software integration and format conversion software. ARTV chose Medway to improve the delivery of media between the multiple processes involved in its enterprise-wide broadcasting environment.

Electronic Media Network Limited (MNET), South Africa's first private subscription television service, has installed Marquis' Medway media transfer and format conversion software as an integral part of its broadcast workflow. The new software, supplied and installed by Spescom, enables media files to move seamlessly between a range of systems used for the post-production and play-to-air of Supersport, MNET's HD sports channel. Medway enables MNET to eliminate difficulties that had previously arisen when media files passed from one system to another.
The Oireachtas Broadcasting Unit (OBU) is using Marquis Broadcast's Medway media transfer and format conversion software as part of its file-based asset management, archiving and playout workflow for the Houses of the Oireachtas (Irish Parliament). Designed and installed by Eurotek, one of Ireland's largest systems integration and equipment suppliers, the system comprises a tightly integrated, end to end workflow that uses a range of best of breed broadcast applications from leading manufacturers including Avid, IBIS, Omneon, SGL and Telestream. The system also includes design capacity for future updates, in particular, easy upgrade options to HD.
Yleisradio Oy (YLE), Finland's national public service broadcasting company, has completed implementation of an enterprise-wide unified asset management and workflow system to improve the internal management and accessibility of its vast amount of video content. With 4 television channels, 6 radio channels, over twenty local radio services and archived video material dating back to 1958, the system was an ambitious undertaking.
Regional Belgian television station, RTL-TVI Belgium, part of RTL Group is using Medway as the interoperability engine for its broadcasting and postproduction workflows based in its head office in Brussels. Medway has enabled the Company to achieve fast media transfers between its production areas where multiple teams of operators use a range of applications from different manufacturers.
