The main challenge with editing workgroups and shared projects is keeping track of where and which assets are used within a project (and other projects). In particular, how media is distributed between workspaces and when is it safe to delete content.
Marquis’ PARKING was conceived with this challenge in mind by creating an application that can both manage archives and optimise storage utilisation.
In one single application PROJECT PARKING analyses all Avid projects and media to identify which projects are using up most space and take appropriate action to transfer, archive or delete.
Marquis has made available as a download a FREE VERSION of the ‘Parking’ storage management solution which analyses Avid storage and projects and presents the results.
Marquis’ Japanese reseller Hoei Sangyo gave the first ever showing of a new implementation of the Medway that enables the seamless integration of Grass Valley Edius in an Avid Interplay environment at InterBee.
A new Medway client makes it possible to edit Interplay content directly in Grass Valley Edius. Users can search Avid Interplay from within the client interface, view thumbnails, find media and select for editing. Selected content is copied, rewrapped and dropped into Grass Valley Edius for immediate editing.
NEC Corporation of America (NEC), a leading technology integrator of advanced IT, communications and networking solutions, and Marquis Broadcast, an innovator in media integration products and workflow efficiency, today announced a new joint solution that provides media companies a highly efficient and cost-effective way to optimize the use of shared storage resources and ensure protection of media assets in the event of a disaster.
The new integrated solution, called HYDRAstor®/Marquis Project Parking, leverages NEC’s HYDRAstor Open Storage Suite capabilities and Marquis Broadcast’s core attribute of moving media and metadata between different systems in broadcast and post-production workflows. Media companies, with their heavy data usage, require a reliable storage off-load, which has become even more critical in this time of pervasive multi-media content delivery and regular image resolution increases to 4K and beyond. As the size of media assets drives data growth, media companies need a highly efficient and cost-effective way to optimize and secure shared storage resources.
